In June 2006, Stuart L. Cochran left the trial practice group at Baker Botts L.L.P. after six years to start his own practice. Mr. Cochran's practice is dedicated to providing businesses and individuals with the caliber of legal services they would expect from a big firm, but doing so at affordable rates. It is also Mr. Cochran's philosophy that legal services cannot be exemplary if they are not provided ethically.
Mr. Cochran's practice focuses on
civil litigation and
business law. In his litigation practice, he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts and in alternative dispute resolution forums, including arbitrations and mediations. He has worked on cases in a broad range of industries involving a broad range of
federal and
state claims.
Mr. Cochran also assists clients with business matters, including
entity formation and
business transactions. Mr. Cochran helps clients determine the proper structure for their businesses and provides legal representation in contract negotiations, both of which are crucial for business success and to ensure the businesses and their owners are protected from legal, tax and other liabilities.
In 2005, Mr. Cochran was
selected by his peers as a
Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star, as published by Texas Monthly and Law and Politics.
